BMW i8 Concept Spyder

BMW and its diffusion “i” brand pull the covers off its third concept, the i8 Concept Spyder. A direct relative of the i8 Concept Coupe, an eco-friendly form of mobility is the premise behind the beautiful piece of design and engineering. A 223 hp three-cylinder gas engine at the rear is paired with a 131 hp electric motor at the front which generates a combined 354 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. Without the need for emission-releasing combustion, the electric motor can take the i8 up to 19 miles on a single charge. Performance wise, the car is no slouch featuring 0-62 mph sprints of five seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. Two scooters further enhance urban mobility as they’re stowed in the rear.
