Citroen Numero 9 Concept
Citroën has finally given the world a closer look at the company’s next DS design study. The French automaker is set to introduce the DS line to China this year and will officially show off the Numero 9 Concept at the Beijing Motor Show. Boasting 295 horsepower, the plug-in hybrid expresses radical choices in design with immediately recognizable styling that is both inspired and emotional. Two years after its launch, the DS line – comprised of the Citroën DS3, DS4 and DS5 – has already notched up more than 200,000 sales in a relatively short amount of time.

At the recent Baselworld watch and jewelry show in Basel, Switzerland, Biegert & Funk unveiled their QLOCKTWO W watch. This new wristwatch is the world’s first watch to tell time in words. For instance if it is 9:30, the watch will read: Is is a half past nine. The square watch face has 110 characters all placed neatly into a grid and when you press the stainless steel button on the side, the words light up to tell you what time it is. The watch will be dropping in Autumn of this year and it will be available in stainless steel and black. As of January 2012, an incredible 50 million Apple iPads have been sold, emphatically reiterating Apple’s stranglehold on the tablet computer market. But amidst the iPad’s wild success, reports of suicides and rampant worker abuse at Foxconn — Apple’s largest production plant in China, have plagued the device’s PR record, and placed Apple’s labor practices into the international spotlight. In hopes of defraying the negative publicity around Foxconn, Marketplace.org Shanghai Bureau Chief Rob Schmitz was recently granted an exclusive, and extremely rare opportunity to visit the factory floor. He was able to tour the assembly process and interviewed a small sample of the quarter million Chinese employed at the plant. This short video highlights some of the mundane production processes, and offers a brief glimpse into a Chinese worker’s life outside of their workday. The fascinating story continues at Marketplace.org, where you can read interviews with Foxconn workers, as well as interviews with their bosses. Schmitz’s findings weren’t entirely shocking, or representative of the tragedies that have taken place at Foxconn, the entire report still sheds a compelling light on the other side of the “Designed in California” equation that simply deserves to be seen.

Marty B had a love for music that began in the womb. His mother’s love for music found its way naturally to his soul; but like most kids, Marty grew up trying his hand at sports and all things that boys love. In hopes of pursuing his dream, he attended several NBA sponsored summer camps; Marty had great potential but most of all, he had heart. Despite having the right stuff there was still a void.His desire to play ball soon fizzled and his heart followed. Yet another dream was pursuing him with fervor & passion. Music was seducing Marty by the way it made him feel when he released his pain onto dope beats. Marty is an introvert, but his music allowed others to feel the things he could not say. Growing up as the first son of a Legend and accused KingPin from the DMV; Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia area, Marty knew rejection, and growing up wanting and needing the love of his father all too well. Marty longed for the affections of his father, but they were rarely returned. Music, through beats and lyrics, gave Marty the outlet he so desperately needed. For the ever growing Chinese market, Ferrari presents a new special edition of the 458 Italia.
“Dipped in a new Marco Polo red and swaddled in a “dragon-horse” livery with gold imagery and black stripes, the vehicle is supposed to pay homage to Chinese culture. Buyers will also enjoy unique gold wheels and a cabin fitted with gold embroidery to match. A start button with 20 stars and a unique dash plaque are also part of the package.”
Only 20 of these will be built and a price has not been set yet. The car was certainly made to meet Chinese taste and seems for Europe a little over the top in terms of design.
