Hip Hop Roundtable 3
So apparently Monday nite when Jay-z & Kanye West project "Watch The Throne" dropped... I was seeing lots of hate being spilled every which way. A HUGE debate spawned on Twitter (Follow me @MeezyPFBlvd) about who was "The Best Rapper in The Game." As said here on Futuristic Blvd by H3adPhon3z & Kee .... IM THE REASON FOR THIS.... BUT IM JUST A MUSIC HEAD WITH AN OPINION AND HERE IT GOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So this IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I'VE HAD THIS DISCUSSION BEFORE!!!!! It happens about once every month. This is an argument that will never end because there is no way to determine because its sits in that "gray area" of discussion. To quote Hov "What we talkin' bout real shit? Or we talkin' bout rhymes." What are we talking about exactly are we talking about? If we talking numbers, Hov has 11 number one's... Em has sold the most with one album. You cant forget that Weezy sold a MILLION IN A WEEK!! Kanye hasn't had a flop numbers wise & Drake clearly gets the most radio play.... With that said it takes me to my next point...
WHO ARE THE TOP FIVE RAPPERS IN THE GAME???
I know its Wednesday and y'all are like "NIGGA WHAT TOOK SO LONG?" I wanted to get to a consensus of who are the top 5 rappers in the game. So I went to My Social networks and asked. After asking the People who their "Current 5 fave rappers" were and filtering the Bullshit answers, (Dylan Dylan Dylan Dylan Dylan) I got a list started that include the following:
- Curren$y
- Rick Ross
- Big Sean
- J. Cole
- Wale
- Fabolous
- Drake
- Jeezy
- Andre 300
- Kid Cudi
- T.I
So lets get to the meat of this: Every time I have this conversation Niggas always use the "Hoop Analogy?" The Hoop analogy is when You compare 2 up against each other one on one and get a winner, example "Man Lebron aint do shit in the 4th quarter of the finals, and was crucified. Kobe wouldve at least scored." and Etc.
So I start my argument with that All 4 Rappers have Songs where 2 outta the 4 are on it. Hov's Renegade with Em, Drake's Forever had Kanye Wayne and EM, Em and Weezy did No Love, Kanye and Jay Minus the Throne album, have Run this town and Diamonds remix, Wayne, hov, yeezy on Swagga like mine, and Wayne and hov have Mr. Carter and Kanye and wayne are on Lollipop remix.. and these just the ones i can think of.
With that said you put these songs in Discussion
- Its A known Fact that Em DESTROYED Jay on Renegade no argument there.
and it Know Kanye was murdered by Jay on Diamonds remix
XXL Mag took a poll where the voters projected that Forever ranks as 1) Em 2) Drake 3) Kanye and Wayne was last. My opinion switch drake & Kanye and they got it right
But here where the debate starts you take a Song Like Swagger like us and throw it up... Jay has the the top verse with Kanye next and Wayne 3rd but some say Waynes verse is the top. but who knows. Kanye's verse on Lollipop was the TRUTH and he even tell Wayne "You aint finna murder me like everybody else " Some still would say it doesn't top the "Condom" line from Wayne.
WE CAN DISCUSS ONE ON ONE VERSES ALL DAY BUT I DON'T WANNA STAY TOO LONG!!!! So in my opinion Jay-z is the only one on the list who HAS GOTTEN MURDER THE LEAST OUTTA THE 4. Renegade & run this town is his only defeats.
Lets Talk Albums.... Jay-z has 11 number one albums with and arguable 3 flops (Kingdom come, Hard knock life Vol2 & BluePrint 2)
Kanye's 5 albums have all been number ones and the questionable flop is 808's and Heartbreak, only because of the use of all that damn auto tune. Graduation is to be the best out the 5
Eminem is probably my least fav but i understand the greatness. The weakest album IS OF COURSE RELAPSE. WHO KNOWS WAT WAS GOIN ON WITH THAT RUSHED ALBUM.
Lil wayne has bout 8 albums with the flops being 500 degreez, Rebirth. I am not human being. Weezy gets alotta credit as the top rapper cause he OWNED Music from 06-09 with all the features and COUNTLESS MIXTAPES
Im tired of talking so my list goes Jay-z. Kanye, Wayne and Em last. Jay's fell off Alot but nobody has really been able to come for the spot hard enough. Kanye is second cause he's coming too hard for the spot and is the closest to get it cause hes only getting better. Wayne 3rd because hes falling off from getting that top spot.. if "Carter IV" is not what everybody thinks it will be... it will be time to hand that hat to Drake and take a back seat. Em is last clearly becuase he doesnt have enough material to be heard as often.WE CAN DISCUSS ONE ON ONE VERSES ALL DAY BUT I DON'T WANNA STAY TOO LONG!!!! So in my opinion Jay-z is the only one on the list who HAS GOTTEN MURDER THE LEAST OUTTA THE 4. Renegade & run this town is his only defeats.

Hip Hop Rountable 2
Since H3ADPHON3Z started this i decided to add my opinion, 1st i would like to say that whose the greatest rapper is a heated argument, and i cant wait to see what the rest of the team has to say
Wayne and Kanye are tied for the top spot- There is no way i can put one of these rappers over the other. they both bring something different to the table. I love Kanye's ability to step out the box and come with something crazy. I'm still in aw his MTV Awards performance. While Wayne I can listen to his song all day and constantly find a new metaphor.
Eminem - i know his Cd came out last yr and its been a couple of months since he has released anything, but his CD was great he took some time off got his life together and put out the album his fans deserved.
Jay Z - And then you have Jay if i was doing this a few years ago Jay Z would have been at the top of this list hands down, but now i feel and ima say this one more time I FEEL that Jay is losing it and is trying his hardest to remain at the top.
Drake - He rounds out the list drake's career blew up overnight off of his mixtape so far gone, and he has potential to rise to the top of this list he has only been big for about 2 years and look how far he has come. This is my favorite rapper and i cant wait for Take Care
Hip Hop Rountable
Seems like the homie MEEZY caused some controversy last night. Which got me to thinking, Who really is the best rapper alive? You have the usual contenders, Jay z and kanye Omari West, Who dropped off watch the throne last night to a packed twitter house, Mr. Weezy F baby and the F is Fenomenal, and Eminem. But which order would you put them in, who takes top spot and who's the last man on the Top dog Food chain.
Jay-Z is Jay-Z thats pretty much the only argument he needs for his spot on the list
For me personally Kanye and Wayne are tied for the number two spot (yea yea I hear the mumblings from behind the comments curtain already) but like i said PERSONALLY. Kanye's albums are near flawless, and Wayne has Classic mixtapes to add to his resume with the "Carter" series, plus those are my two favorite rappers anyway.
And then you have EM, not knocking the man at all because "Stan" is one of the best songs of all time, but on this list he's the Low man on the totem pole.
I know the Fam has different opinions on this, so i invite them to add something to this post if they disagree
O and if any of the readers disagree you can find me on twitter @LVonFBLVD
