Lamborghini officially unveils the anticipated “Urus” SUV. Although not the automotive manufacturer’s first foray into the sport utility realm, the Urus SUV is certainly a deviation from the company’s more recent sports car leanings. Initially previewed a few days ago, the official unveiling arrives in conjunction with the Beijing Motor Show in China. Autoblog reports that Lamborghini’s move to enter the SUV market was prompted by an anticipation to see a “steady decline” in revenue on what is currently the auto maker’s bread and butter – two-door sports cars.
Although details and a full press release have not yet been divulged — given the official production debut will not be until 2015 — the model is mocked up with Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires, a beautiful red finish and is expected to boast a “super SUV” status coming it as a 4×4 with just over 600 horsepower. The unveiling also brings with it a deeper look into the interior of the Urus. Black and off-white play dominant roles across most of the interior, with jagged seats and marble-styled accents rounding out a luxe appeal very naturally.
