2012 Ford Shelby 1000

Ford wasn’t planning on unveiling its new 2012 Shelby 1000 until the New York Auto Show next week, but thousand-horsepower secrets like this aren’t that easy to keep. The earth-shattering new chapter in the Shelby lore outpaces its previous iteration by 200 ponies — or 300, if you’re looking at the S/C track version. To compensate for the uptick in horsepower, Shelby also upgraded the car’s suspension, driveshaft, and increased the brake size. Understandably, production of the Shelby 1000 will be exceptionally limited, but if you’re good for the starting price of $150,000 USD, Shelby will be taking orders at the New York Auto Show.
