American designer Tom Ford is adding an extremely rare, and limited edition optical piece to his already impressive Spring 2012 eyewear collection. The new 5260 is modeled after some of the most sought-after and fashionable designs of the ’50s, but with a twist — these luxury frames are hewn from water buffalo horn. The frames will ship in a Bakelite box, and will be included with a cleansing cream and chamois to help preserve the horn. Water buffalo horn tends to cost a bit more than acetate, so expect these frames to go for around $3,000 USD when they arrive in April.
