Givenchy ‘Pin-Up’ Flip Flops

For the Givenchy spring summer season, quasi surreal blend of multicolor flowers, bird of paradise or exotic bug patterns are displayed on jackets, sweatshirts, tee shirts, trousers, shorts and even kilts. In addition, a few virginal white and grass green total looks balance the collection, and the exotic Hawaiian pin-ups as well as the delicate anchor pattern give it a nautical feel.
Indeed, Ricardo drew his inspiration from his teenage dreams of becoming a surfer. With a sharp design showing street and sportswear influences, the silhouettes are strong.
Combining a bold floral pattern with a very masculine look, the designer succeeds where most would have failed, confirming his title of “print master”. A surprisingly convincing collection that will please the edgy and adventurous spirits. Available now at Colette for around $280.
