Pierre Balmain 2012 Fall/Winter Short Film
For Fall/Winter 2012 Pierre Balmain, the Parisian house’s secondary line, presents a glamorous wardrobe in black, white, grey and midnight blue that takes men and women with a poetic, downtown style from day into evening. The sinuous mood of the collection is set by a short black and white film shot by Martial Schmeltz, with art direction by Atelier Franck Durand. Inspired by late fifties/early sixties French and Italian films, the haunting sounds of Bruno Alexiu’s “Romy” creates a wonderful mood.

Managing to infuse a level of creative ingenuity into an oft-used silhouette, Burberry Prorsum has just released a new Woven Top Cork Sole Leather Shoe for its Spring/Summer 2012. A few elements stand out among the new iteration, primarily the inclusion of a cork foundation that cleanly delineates the outsole from the tumbled brown leather upper. Adding a further degree of character to the release, Burberry Prorsum draped a patterned navajo print across the toebox within the confines of an expertly stitched moc leather toe. The pair is rounded out by contrasting tan laces and is now available through MR PORTER for a retail of £450 GBP (approximately $708 USD)

Highly esteemed fashion house, Prada, prides itself with a long-standing tradition of quality, craftsmanship, innovation and style. Following up on its “Walking in Milano” handmade series, Prada promotes the “Walking in Tokyo” collection with this Shibuya sneaker, an alter ego and modernized version to the classically designed Bastioni shoe. The minimally-designed effort features premium leather construction, tonal stitches, a velcro strap closure, tongue patch branding and a reinforced rubber outsole.

Spring/Summer 2012 brings an array of new colors to choose from. Utilizing the familiar ziz-zag soles we’ve come to expect from the collaboration, this season finds more solid patterns, while they do manage to slip in a bit of orange camouflage that recalls a past offering. If older models are any indication, these boots will retail in the $340 USD range, with availability through finer boutiques worldwide.
Hublot x Ferrari Big Bang Magic Gold & Big Bang Titan
A while Swiss watch maker Hublot and race car maker Ferrari signed a partnership agreement and now, 5 months later, we see the first collaborative watches to come from the on-going collaboration. At Baselworld 2012 this week, Hublot is presenting the Ferrari Big Bang Magic Gold and the Ferrari Big Bang Titan.
The iconic Big Bang watch comes in the newly developed Magic Gold (scratch proof) by Hublot, as well as a Titan version. Both featuring premium crocodile leather straps and of course the added Ferrari branding on the dial and Chrono buttons. All in all two very impressive 45.5 mm watches, each limited to 1000 pieces.
